There's some sweet stuff here Damo, but the question is: where can I get it from and will you buy it for me? Razz

I reckon the "jack-chains" are a good option for the archers and perfect for anyone who just has an akerton and isn't willing to splurge on plate/ splint arms and spaulders yet. That and you'd be the first person in LMS to have em so you'd probably get bragging rights too.

You can pick some up for $79 at Medieval Fightclub:

http://www.medieval-fightclub.com/category22_1.htm

just scroll down.

Just sew em on your akerton/ gambeson and presto your shoulders, upper arms and forearms are protected. Sounds good to me.

Those Jack chains are distinctly 15th c.
There are effigies though of german knights in long sleeve mail with what could be jack chains but they are much different, the elbow rondel covers the rings joining the plates.

Bummer,
they would of been a good alternative too. Ah well, plate arms look better anyway.

Thanks Damo, as with your basket hilt sword, we have to be carefull what we put up with all the newbies buying gear we don't want them getting the wrong ideas(just yet anyway Twisted Evil ). Perhaps we need a second part of the forum where any cool armour/swords etc maybe even fantasy stuff like my LOTR sword could be displayed and talked about?
