"And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust."

Ralph Waldo Emerson:
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Albert Camus:
All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning. Great works are often born on a street corner or in a restaurant's revolving door.

John Henry Cardinal:
Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning.

John Wanamaker:
One may walk over the highest mountain one step at a time

Dale Carnegie:
Remember, happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have, it depends solely upon what you think.

Dwight Eisenhower: No one can defeat us unless we first defeat ourselves.

William Blake:
To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wildflower... hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour...

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover

La Vita Nuova

In that book which is
My memory . . .
On the first page
That is the chapter when
I first met you
Appear the words . . .
Here begins a new life

The late great Spike Milligan

If I could write words
Like leaves on an autumn forest floor,
What a bonfire my letters would make.
If I could speak words of water,
You would drown when I said
"I love you."

There will be a time when it will end.
Be it parting
Be it death
So each passing minute with you
Pendulummed with sadness.
So many times
I looked long into your face.
I could hear the clock ticking.

Go away girl, go away
and let me pack my dreams
Now where did I put those yesteryears
made up with broken seams
Where shall I sweep the pieces
my God they still look new
There's a taxi waiting at the door
but there's only room for you

The essence of true beauty
Lingers in all-encompassing rainbows
Of your joy and laughter

You hold my hand and smile
As we ensconce ourselves in our world of fire
Our love is all there is

I touch your face
Your gentleness astounds me
I'm held in the honour of your love

Then overnight, the wrold truns suor

I'M A L 0 N E

One of the oldest poems dating back about five thousand years.

Naked into the dark we come,
naked into the dark we go.
Come to me, naked, in the dark.

Far out Pollporkchop you spin me out. So wouldn't have picked you as a fan of the legendary Spike. But wonders never cease. Cheers, Silverlady.
A King or Queen without love deserves no Kingdom. - Laputa
